Palmer Luckey, Keiji Inafune and more will speak at D.I.C.E. 2014
The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences continues to roll out announcements about next month's annual Las Vegas-based D.I.C.E. Summit, revealing five additional speakers today from a few different corners of the industry. Oculus VR's own Brendan Iribe and Palmer Luckey will join Vlambeer co-founder Rami Ismail, Mighty No Come from Soccer 13 pools and matches . 9 project lead Keiji Inafune, and CCP Games CEO Hilmar Veigar Petursson in speaking at the event. They'll all be giving talks addressing "The New Golden Age", the official theme of D.I.C.E. 2014. It's hard to know at this point what the speakers plan to discuss, though we do know that Hilmar Veigar Petursson will be repeating a presentation he gave at D.I.C.E. Europe last year — titled “The Human Brain is the Platform – Gaming in the Golden Age" — which digs into the ways in which technological advances can change the way our minds perceive reality. They join previously-announced 2014 D.I.C.E. speakers like Robin Hunicke of Funomena,Gone Home writer/designer Steve Gaynor, and MLG's Sundance DiGiovanni. The full speaker list is available on the D.I.C.E. website, and more speakers as well as nominations for the 17th annual D.I.C.E. Awards are expected to be announced soon for the 2014 D.I.C.E. Summit, which will be held at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas February 4-6.
